Once I got those sorted I couldn't be happier with the Big Six. Gain staging is important to minimizing noise. I use the stereo cues as effect sends and channels 1+2 as returns. The second was due to the lack of inserts on the stereo channels. The first was power supply related and once I separated the Big Six, it's supply and my computer monitor's power supply the hum was gone. I had to buy a new power supply for mine to minimize noise while I wait for a solution from SSL.įWIW I was a relatively early adopter and noticed two noise issues. Or if you have a headphone output on your laptop/computer you could simply aggregate that with the BiG SiX I imagine. You could buy any cheap <$100 interface for this and just aggregate it with the big six and use it only for the multiclock signal. I mean, that answer is how you would do it with the BiG SiX, but I wouldn't waste a big six channel on a square wave you are just going to ouput to your multiclock. If only there were a couple of basic aux outputs for the Audio Interface side! Leave the Insert turned on for that channel and do not input anything to the Return for that channel and Ensure you do not switch of Insert on that channel o tit will input the signal to the main bus!" You could use one of the Mono Channels switch USB in and then Use the channel send to send the signal to the device. Of course from there, the Cirklon sends really tight midi to anything it is controlling. Folks that have an HD24 seem to have a lot of difficulties integrating it into a more modern setup.Įven with a Cirklon/DAW combo, a sync box is a big help in reducing jitter to the Cirklon. Next test is seeing if the Multiclock + Motu Digital Timepiece + Alesis HD24XR can sync up. ![]() Yeah, yeah, I know folks with a DAW or Cirklon or other stuff is saying - so what, but having the ability to have 4 streams in perfect sync and to be able to shift and shuffle them against each other is very nice. An E-RM Multiclock arrived a couple days ago and combined with a MIDI patchbay it's a beautiful thing to press a single button and have everything making noises in sync (again). ![]() Setup has been in a state of partial disassembly since selling the Cirklon and some other stuff.
